From Drawing to Delivery

Representative programs showing how Aura takes a component from engineering review to scheduled releases — customer names withheld, discipline identical.

Custom Aluminum Profile Program

CUSTOMER: NORTH AMERICAN DOOR MANUFACTURER

Challenge

The customer required a custom aluminum profile with tight straightness tolerances and an architectural anodized finish — previously sourced domestically at a piece price that made the end product uncompetitive, with no backup capacity.

Aura solution

Engineering review of the profile and tolerance stack, die tooling with a qualified extrusion partner, first-article validation, anodizing to the customer's color standard, and a stocking program at our Canadian warehouse with monthly scheduled releases.

  • Engineering review
  • Die tooling
  • Extrusion
  • Anodizing
  • FAI
  • Warehousing

Result

6 wksfrom die order to first article approval
±0.15 mmheld on critical profile dimensions
Monthlyreleases from Canadian stock — no container handling for the customer

Die-Cast Latch Assembly

CUSTOMER: COMMERCIAL HARDWARE OEM

Challenge

A four-part latch assembly — cast body, machined features, powder coat, spring assembly — managed across three separate suppliers, with finger-pointing whenever a lot failed fit-up at the customer's line.

Aura solution

Consolidated the entire assembly under one Aura part number: Zamak 3 high-pressure die casting, CNC-machined datum features, black powder coat, assembly and 100% functional gauging before packing.

  • Zamak 3 casting
  • CNC machining
  • Powder coating
  • Assembly
  • Functional gauging

Result

4 → 1purchase orders consolidated into one
100%of assemblies functionally gauged before shipment
Oneaccountable partner when anything needs answering

Overmolded Enclosure

CUSTOMER: CONSUMER PRODUCTS BRAND

Challenge

A two-material enclosure (rigid ABS shell, TPE grip zones) quoted domestically with tooling that broke the project budget — and a launch date that couldn't move.

Aura solution

DFM review simplified the parting line and eliminated one slide action, cutting tool cost before steel was ever ordered. Two prototype loops (SLA, then soft tool) validated grip feel; production launched on a two-shot tool with color-matched resin.

  • DFM review
  • SLA prototypes
  • 2-shot tooling
  • Color match
  • Stocking program

Result

2 loopsfrom first sample to approved boundary sample
1 slideremoved from the tool at DFM — permanent cost out
Stockedlaunch quantities held in North America before go-live
CNC Machining Machined shaft side-view drawing with stepped diameters, keyway, threaded end and tolerance callouts

Precision Machined Shaft Family

CUSTOMER: INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT BUILDER

Challenge

A family of six stainless shafts with ground bearing surfaces, ordered irregularly in small batches — every order requoted, every lead time a negotiation, every price different.

Aura solution

Blanket-order program across the full family: economic batch production, CMM inspection against agreed critical dimensions, and safety stock in Canada with releases against the customer's build schedule.

  • 303 / 17-4 PH
  • Turning + grinding
  • CMM inspection
  • Blanket order
  • Safety stock

Result

6 SKUson one blanket agreement with fixed pricing
Daysfrom release call-off to dock, instead of weeks
